Keri Rusthoi teaches voice privately in her Voice Studio and as faculty with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Additionally she serves as academic music faculty at the Colorado Mountain College-Alpine Campus and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Ms. Rusthoi is the Founder and former Artistic Director of both the Emerald City Opera, now in its sixteenth year, and its national Opera Artist Institute for Emerging Singers. She has previously taught voice and/or drama at the Perry-Mansfield School for the Performing Arts, the Arts for the Soul organization and the Moffat County High School in Northwest Colorado.
Ms. Rusthoi won rave reviews as a guest artist on the award-winning "New Age" recording The Lost World by Michael Sterns, released in 1991, and is a registered BMI recording artist. She was instrumental in creating the world premiere of an orchestral arrangement of Jean Berger's song cycle Villanescas, which she performed at the 2012 Steamboat All Arts Festival with plans to professionally record and release the premiere at a later date. Ms. Rusthoi is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
Currently, Ms. Rusthoi is the CEO of the new Arts Consultancy arts administration support firm and in that capacity she served as the Northwest Colorado representative for the Colorado Creative Industries statewide granting panel in 2015. As well she is Director of Music at the United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs, conducting both the Chancel Choir and the children's choir, The Grace Notes. She is the longstanding Music Director for the Yampa Valley Youth Choirs as well as stage directs the educational outreach program, the Yampa Valley Opera Troupe. She dabbles in a string trio as violist (The Holly Berry Quartet) and a vocal quartet (The Silverbelles). In past years she has served her community as the director of the Columbine Youth Chorale, the Emerald City Opera Youth Chorus, Opera Artist Institute and Touring Opera Troupe, as well as performed as a violist in The Avalon String Quartet and the Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra. She served several years as the Arts Representative on the Steamboat Springs Education Fund Board. Ms. Rusthoi is a member of the National Association for Teachers of Singing, and the Colorado Music Educators Association.
